Hailing from Drogheda, Co. Louth, Ireland, the group is made up of Darragh Ó Héiligh (Uilleann pipes, whistles) and Oisín Dillon (guitar, vocals).

The Irish Independent names Dabilla as one of Ireland’s rising stars and top talents of 2025, calling their music wonderfully expressive.” Clare FM describes their debut album as “very new and very innovative.” JOE.ie raves that their live show is “insane—the best band around,” and Irish Music Magazine adds, “Dabilla deserve major credit for pursuing an enthralling musical path, with this album marking the start of an exciting journey.”

Dabilla is an Irish duo reshaping traditional music with modern innovation. Darragh Ó Héiligh (uilleann pipes & whistles) and Oisín Dillon (guitar & vocals) blend rich folk melodies with contemporary production, creating their signature Folktronic sound—a fusion of Irish tradition and cutting-edge soundscapes.

Their debut album, The Hound of Boann (March 2025), draws inspiration from the ancient legend of Boann and her loyal hound, Dabilla. Rooted in the folklore of the Boyne Valley, the album transforms these timeless stories into cinematic, high-energy performances that bridge past and future.

In June, they will release a full-length music video featuring Irish dancer Georgina Donovan of ‘Prodijig,’ adding movement and storytelling to their sonic journey. This summer will see the band play festivals all over Ireland before embarking on a tour of Belgium and Holland in the autumn.

With standout performances at Fleadh Cheoil, Temple Bar TradFest, and JOE.ie’s Live Pub Quiz, Dabilla has built a reputation for electrifying live shows. They have supported The Tumbling Paddies, Sharon Shannon and Ceol and are set to support Kila and George Murphy, further cementing their place in Ireland’s vibrant music scene.

Dabilla invites listeners to join the Folktronic movement. Their music is where tradition meets innovation—a fresh sound for a new era of Irish folk.
